Questions & Answers

About our scratching posts, from materials to delivery.

We work with solid wood, natural sisal and fabrics that feel comfortable for cats and look calm in the home. No plastic poles or hollow constructions. Just honest materials made for everyday use.

All scratching posts are handmade in our workshop in France. We don’t produce large batches, but work step by step. This sometimes means a little waiting time, but it also means we know exactly what leaves our workshop.

Dimensions vary per model. You’ll find the exact measurements on each product page, so you can see whether it fits your space and your cat.

Yes. This is a conscious choice. Solid wood feels warmer, is much stronger and ages more beautifully than composite materials.

With some posts this can happen slightly at first. Wood is a natural material, not a perfect factory product. This does not affect the strength or safety of the scratching post.

It is possible, although we do our best to prevent this. The wood is checked and finished carefully. Small imperfections are part of working with natural wood. Because the posts are debarked, the surface can be rougher in places, especially around knots.

Yes. Wood is a living material. As it dries, it naturally shrinks. All posts will have a crack, or develop one over time. In our workshop we make sure these cracks do not continue to spread. It may look a bit alarming, but it’s normal and does not affect use.

Yes. No two posts are exactly the same. That’s what we love about working with real wood. It’s always a bit of a surprise what you’ll receive. We try to keep all models as consistent as possible, but the scratching post you receive will always be unique.

In most cases, yes. We design with normal cat behaviour in mind: scratching, stretching, jumping and resting. We aim to make our posts suitable for all cats. If you have questions or need a specific adjustment, feel free to contact us.

Yes, although not every model suits every age equally well. Some models are lower and easier to access, while others offer more height. If you’re unsure, we’re happy to think along with you.

Yes. We do not compromise on stability. We use large, heavy base plates and solid construction. The posts are made for daily use, even by active cats.

That depends on the model and how your cats interact with each other. In households with multiple cats, a larger or heavier model is often more suitable.

They are designed for indoor use only. Wood and fabric do not respond well to rain or strong temperature changes. In a dry, covered area it may be possible, but we cannot give guarantees for outdoor use.

We don’t work with a fixed maximum weight in kilos. In practice, that says very little. Our scratching posts are designed for everyday use by cats of all common sizes and breeds. They are not intended as seating for people. After designing a model, we test every scratching post ourselves. We climb on it, sit on it and load it deliberately to see if it remains stable, well beyond normal cat use. Yes, that includes testing with around 80 kg.

Scratching isn’t bad behaviour, it’s necessary. Cats use it to maintain their claws, release tension and feel comfortable in their environment. A good scratching post also helps prevent damage to furniture.

Usually a vacuum cleaner or soft brush is enough. Hair and dust are easy to remove. Stains can be gently dabbed with a slightly damp cloth. Avoid scrubbing or circular brushing motions, as this can cause tangling or damage.

Very little maintenance is needed. Avoid placing the post in damp areas and don’t treat the wood with aggressive products. Normal use is perfectly fine.

Sometimes, yes. This depends on the model and the part. Feel free to contact us and we’ll look at what’s possible.

That depends on the cat, but they are made to last for many years. Wear is normal, but the core construction is solid and durable.

Yes. We keep assembly intentionally simple. Clear instructions are included. If anything is unclear, just let us know and we’ll help you.

We supply the necessary tools with the product, so you can always assemble it properly.

Yes. Most models are designed so they can be moved or dismantled if needed.

Yes. We choose calm colours and organic shapes. Nothing loud or flashy, just designs that feel quiet and balanced in the home.

That’s exactly the idea. Thanks to the natural colours and materials, they don’t need to be hidden, but they also don’t dominate the space. They simply become part of your interior.

We pay close attention to proportions. Our posts are often larger than many other brands because we use solid, high-quality materials. Despite their size, we design them to blend calmly into your home.

All scratching posts are shipped from France. Depending on the model, they may be sent in one or multiple parcels.

We pack everything carefully and securely. Not excessive, but enough to make sure it arrives safely.

Because everything is handmade and not always in stock, delivery times can vary. The current delivery time is always shown on the product page. If you have questions, feel free to contact us.

Yes. Once your order has been shipped, you’ll receive a tracking link by email.

You have the legal right to return your order within the cooling-off period, as long as the product is unused and in good condition.

A scratching post is a product that is meant to be used. Once it has been assembled or used, we can no longer sell it as new. For that reason, we only accept returns within the legal period if the product is unused and still in its original condition and packaging. If you’re unsure whether a model suits your cat, we’re happy to advise you beforehand.

Return shipping costs are generally your responsibility, unless something went wrong during delivery.

Please contact us as soon as possible and include photos. We’ll take care of it.
